Helping The Kids of Melbourne Reach Their Full Potential

Paediatric Speech Pathology Service

Eastern Region of Melbourne

Who we are

Kids of Melbourne Speech Pathology (KoMSP) is a private speech pathologist who use a holistic child and family centred approach to working with children and the important people in their lives.

We recognise that young children learn best when they are playing and having fun and we aim to build them up from their interests and strengths. When we can, we take therapy off the table and into the child’s space to involve them rather than just teach them. In turn, we can develop functional skills that will create a broader change for them in their stage of life.

At KoMSP we know that communication skills underpin many other areas of children's development and are the foundation of building and maintaining relationships.

We are committed to meeting children where they are and helping them to understand their world, express their ideas, be empowered to make choices and develop real relationships.

Our Mission

At KoMSP, we aim to build connections in order to effect change - connections with children, with their families and other important people in their lives. We work from a strengths-based approach to learning and consider the input of family and other supporting people integral - all the way from assessment to goal setting and then intervention. We embrace each child's unique skills and differences and we celebrate their wins while building upon areas of need. We aim to keep abreast of and understand the research and evidence that frames our profession and then implement it into our practice while at the same time, create a flexible and personalised service delivery approach. Children may need support for a short time and others may need it longer, but we are eager to walk this journey with families.

“Mariam's skills and depth of experience were evident from day one.”

A caring and strategic therapist, she has always been able to meet our son, Julian, at his ability and engagement level and has supported him to become the confident and happy child he is today. She has assisted us through challenges and celebrated every step in development no matter how great or small. Thank you, Mariam!”
